Open FrostTech, add your AC, give it a name and pick a room. Your phone needs a built-in IR blaster; point it at the AC to send commands. Then choose a mode and set the temperature.
Control needs an IR blaster built into your phone; many phones, including all Google Pixel models, do not have one. Open IR Test in the app to check yours. Then make sure that nothing blocks the line of sight for IR, and that your AC brand/model is supported. Some ACs and phones are not compatible.
The App works with many popular air conditioners (such as Samsung, LG, Daikin, Panasonic and Toshiba). Compatibility varies by brand, model and your phone's hardware, so not every AC works with every phone. Brand names are shown only to indicate compatibility — we are not affiliated with those manufacturers.
No. Sending IR commands works completely offline. An internet connection is used only for ads and analytics.
The Transmit IR permission lets the App send infrared remote signals through your phone's IR blaster. That is the only way the App controls your AC.
The app is free and supported by ads. There are currently no in-app purchases or subscriptions, so there's nothing to cancel or restore. If paid features are added later, the price will be shown before you buy.
If a consent prompt appeared when you first opened the app, you can decline personalized ads there. You can also reset or opt out of your Advertising ID in Android via Settings → Privacy → Ads. Clearing app data lets the prompt appear again.
Your devices and settings stay on your device, and control signals stay on your device / local network. Because the free app is ad-supported, we use Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Adjust and the Meta (Facebook) SDK, which process limited device and advertising identifiers. We do not access your contacts, SMS or precise location. See our Privacy Policy.
